What is Arthritis?
Arthritis is an inflammation of the joints that causes pain, swelling, and stiffness. It can affect any joint in the body, but the most commonly affected are the knees, hips, hands, and spine. The two most common types of arthritis are osteoarthritis (degenerative joint disease) and rheumatoid arthritis (an autoimmune condition). Other types include psoriatic arthritis, gout, and ankylosing spondylitis.
